This panel combines the three most commonly used thyroid tests: thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH), triiodothyronine (T3), and thyroxine (T4). Together they show whether the thyroid is overactive or underactive and how the pituitary is responding.
This panel is used to evaluate symptoms suggestive of thyroid disorders, monitor known thyroid disease, follow patients on antithyroid or thyroid hormone replacement therapy, and assess thyroid function during pregnancy. Sample type is serum.
