Anti-SSB (anti-La) antibodies are typically found in patients who also have SSA antibodies and are particularly associated with primary Sjögren syndrome. Their presence supports the diagnosis and can influence clinical management.
This test is used as part of the workup for Sjögren syndrome, lupus, and related autoimmune conditions. Like SSA antibodies, they may cross the placenta and contribute to neonatal lupus. They are typically tested alongside SSA and other autoimmune markers. Sample type is serum.
