This panel measures IgA, IgE, IgG, and IgM together, giving a complete picture of antibody production. Different patterns of abnormalities point to different conditions — for example, low IgG with normal IgM is typical of common variable immunodeficiency, while elevated monoclonal IgM may indicate Waldenström macroglobulinemia.
This panel is used to evaluate recurrent or unusual infections, suspected immunodeficiency, gammopathies, and chronic autoimmune or inflammatory disease. It is often the first step before more specialized immunology testing. Sample type is serum.
