HCG,BETA SUBUNIT,QNT,SERUM

Human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) is produced by placental cells shortly after embryo implantation. The beta subunit is specific to hCG and provides the most accurate measurement. Quantitative testing returns a specific numerical value rather than a simple positive or negative.

This test is used to confirm pregnancy at very early stages, track the expected doubling of hCG every 48-72 hours in early viable pregnancy, evaluate suspected ectopic pregnancy or miscarriage, monitor pregnancies after fertility treatment, and detect or monitor certain germ cell tumors and gestational trophoblastic disease in both women and men. Sample type is serum.
