Gabapentin is used to treat seizures, neuropathic pain, restless legs syndrome, and other conditions. It does not require routine monitoring in most patients, but blood levels can help evaluate compliance, investigate unexpected side effects, or guide therapy in patients with kidney impairment (since gabapentin is renally cleared).
This test is used to assess compliance, evaluate suspected toxicity, and guide therapy in patients with renal dysfunction. Sample type is serum.
