Clonazepam is a long-acting benzodiazepine with broad therapeutic uses. While not routinely monitored in most patients, serum level testing can be useful in certain clinical situations such as suspected non-compliance, unexpected drug interactions, suspected toxicity, or in patients with altered drug metabolism.
This test is used to verify therapeutic levels, evaluate possible toxicity, and assess compliance. Trough levels are typically most informative. Sample type is serum.
