This LC-MS/MS panel identifies amphetamine, methamphetamine, MDMA, MDA, and related compounds with high specificity. Unlike immunoassay screening, which can cross-react with various medications and over-the-counter drugs, mass spectrometry definitively identifies each substance and quantifies its level.
This test is used to confirm presumptive positive screens, monitor compliance in patients prescribed amphetamines (such as for ADHD), evaluate workplace and forensic specimens, and distinguish between legitimate prescriptions and illicit substances. Detection windows are typically 1-3 days for amphetamine and methamphetamine. Sample type is urine.
