This panel measures specific IgE antibodies to commonly implicated food allergens, including milk, egg, wheat, soy, peanut, tree nuts, fish, and shellfish. Elevated specific IgE indicates sensitization, though clinical allergy must be confirmed by history or supervised oral challenge.
This test is used in patients with suspected food-related reactions, to identify specific triggers, and to support food avoidance and counseling. Results should be interpreted in clinical context, since sensitization does not always mean clinical allergy. Sample type is serum.
